Welcome to Rooted by Luna De Honey. Named for both it being nestled into the trees and also to encourage grounding wellness practices during your stay. We hope this retreat you to play, rest, and explore in connection with nature.  

Home Care

We would greatly appreciate it if you could adhere to the following practices for the property.

Shoes

You’ll notice a lot of Red Clay outside. Please leave your shoes by the doors to prevent it from being tracked in throughout the cabin. It would be much appreciated. 

Trash

As you can tell, our cabin is in the middle of a forest. There are critters and bugs all over in nature. We try and minimize this naturally with various herbal plants around the cabin. You can also preemptively help by ensuring no garbage or trash is left around outside or inside. Also try not to leave any food or beverage soaked dishes in the sink. Then please leave the sink clear and clean, run the dishwasher if need when you leave.

All trash needs to be bagged and taken with you at the end of your stay.  We apologize for the inconvenience but it ensures that you don’t have unwanted visitors.  

We do have a compost off the deck outside of the kitchen for your use. For longer stays, we also have a place to hold bagged trash temporarily till you are able to bring it down to the Red Shed at the start of Settlers Valley Way.

By the end of your stay, please bring all trash down to the Red Shed at the start of Settlers Valley Way. The code for the trash shed lock is 0000

Septic

Please do not flush anything but our septic safe toilet paper.  

Thermostat, AC Units, & Black Wall Mounted Heaters

There is a touchscreen thermostat in the hallway. Touch “Heat to”, “Cool to”, or the the three horizontal lines on the bottom of the screen to activate. Message us know if you need assistance.  In addition to the central AC, the upstairs rooms have individual AC units as they receive the most direct sunlight.

Heaters are located in each room.  They look like a black mirror but nothing like the Netflix show! They safely heat the room and are warm to the touch when turned on. If you need them adjusted let us know and we’ll set up access for you as it is through an app.  

Electrical & Generator

Being located out in the wilderness means that weather may occasionally cause a power outage. But not to worry! Our generator is connected to meet our kitchen appliance needs, lights, Wi-Fi, etc.  The generator is the large white box next to the stairs outside of the kitchen door. If you do not hear the generator start up, you’ll want to click the top button to start/auto and it should come on.  

Please contact us so we can assist and find out the time line for restoration of service. 

Fire Extinguishers

Located in the Lower Cabinet the right of the Sliding Door and Under Kitchen Sink. Please let us know if there is an incident.
